The death of Jesse H. Steinhart, prominent Jewish communal leader and founder of the San Francisco Jewish Community Relations Council, was mourned here today in an editorial in the Jewish Community Bulletin, which hailed him as one of this city’s foremost citizens.
Mr. Steinhart died here March 25 at the age of 83. A native of San Francisco, he was a former president of the Federation of Jewish Charities, and of Mt. Zion Hospital. He was an organizer of the Jewish Community Bulletin in 1946, and served on its advisory board.
