The spirit of intolerance and ruthlessness which is being cultivated by the Nazis will in time affect others than the Jews, Leonard Montefiore, British-Jewish leader, declared today in addressing the Board of Deputies of British Jews.
Mr. Montefiore quoted from German textbooks for school children to show how anti-Semitic propaganda is injected in Germany among children of school age.
“It is difficult to believe that the same people who are stirring up hostilities among citizens in different countries are genuinely seeking international peace and reconciliation,” Mr. Montefiore said.
At today’s session of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, it was reported that the special campaign conducted by British Jewry for the Jews of Poland has so far raised $37,000.
