The Parliament is expected soon to adopt a law prohibiting the Schechita, the Jewish method of slaughtering animals. Agitation toward this end is being conducted by various farmer organizations. Recently representatives of the Parliament demanded admission for personal inspection in the Jewish slaughter houses.

Orthodox Jews are protesting and declare they will leave Norway if the prohibition measure passes.

Norway’s severe climate demands the eating of meat. It is impossible to import fresh kosher meat during the summer.
