Scholars to Hold Four-day Conference on Jewish Problems in Europe

Plans were announced here today for a four-day scholars conference on Jewish life in contemporary Europe which will open here next Monday. The conference is sponsored by the Institute of Sociology of the University of Brussels, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Subjects which will be considered at the conference will include developments in the field of Jewish demography in Europe, social and psychological aspects of Jewish identity, the teaching of Judaism and Jewish cultural activities in European universities, and the aims and methods of future research in these fields of Jewish interest.

The details were disclosed at a press conference here at the Institute of Sociology by Max Gottschalk, president of the Centre National des Hautes Etudes Juives, Prof. Moshe Davis, chairman of the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University, and Prof. Shimon Herman of the Hebrew University.
