Scotland refused to extradite to Lithuania a man suspected of collaborating with the Nazis. Scottish officials said Anton Gecas, 85, is too ill to stand trial. Gecas is alleged to have committed atrocities as a member of a World War II police battalion in Lithuania and Belarus. The Simon Wiesenthal Center called on Lithuania to prosecute Gecas in absentia.
