The editor of the Banffshire, Scotland, Journal and Northern Farmer today explained that an anti-Semitic advertisement published in his newspaper last week had appeared only because he and the advertising manager both failed to see it beforehand. He expressed his regret over the “offensive advertisement, ” noted that there was “no special prejudice in Banffshire against the Jewish people” and pledged to be “on guard against any repetition of the incident.
