Pledging 20,000 members of Seattle labor unions to a vigorous boycott of all German-made products and services until Nazi presecution of Jewis, liberals and liberty is restored in the Reich, the Central Labor Council, local union executie body, unanimously passed a resolution backing the anti-Hitler boycott.
”Exile, murder, beatings, discriminatory laws, and now, most recent of all, a law that reduces the employe in Germany to the status of a serf-that is the sad picture of Germany under the Hitler tyranny”, Charles Doyle, labor leader for the past twenty-five years, declared.
”And it is because we protest with all or might aganist such medieval barbarism that we are joining in the nation-wide labor boycott of German-made goods,” Mr. Doyle said. The council, he said, represents 100 Seattle unions, the overwhelming majority of whose members are non-Jews.
Working on the committee which drew up the boycott resolution were Willaim McGuern, past presient of the Central Labor Concil and national representative of the bakers anion; Ronald Watson, sixth vice-president of the State Labor Federation and president of the Building Trades Council; E. M. Weston and Sam De Moss. All are non-Jews.
