Dinner parties on Friday evenings given by members of Temple de Hirsch today had drawn fire from Rabbi Samuel Koch, spiritual leader of the congregation.
In a message addressed to members he protested this breaking of the Sabbath, asking:
“Why should thoughtful members of the congregation give dinner parties on Friday nights?”
