The United States should “endeavor to organize a call for a regional meeting at the earliest possible date” and bring to “the entire Middle East region an era of peace and well-being,” Senator Jacob K, Javits (R.-N. Y.) declared here last night. Addressing the annual dinner of the American Technion Society at the New York Hiltob Hotel, Senator Javits emphasized that “regional planning and regional cooperation is the only feasible way at the present time of overcoming deep-rooted animosities and rivalries” in the Middle East.

The American Technion Society’s annual dinner was attended by nearly 500 guests and was tendered in honor of Dr. Abraham Tulin, one of the founders of the Zionist movement in this country and honorary chairman of the Society. Other speakers at the dinner included Supreme Court Justice Moshe Landau of Jerusalem, one of Israel’s leading jurists and for many years chairman of the board of governors of the Technion; Avraham Harman, Ambassador of Israel to the United States; B. Sumner Gruzen, president of the Society and David Rose, chairman of the board of the Society.
