Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) reassured U.S. Jewish leaders that he supports Israel’s right to build a security barrier. In a meeting Sunday in New York with about 40 Jewish organizational officials, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination went out of his way to clarify his position on the fence, which he had described as a “barrier to peace” last year in a speech to Arab Americans.
