Senior Hamas official Abdel Aziz Rantissi was wounded in an Israeli helicopter strike in Gaza City on Tuesday. Hamas vowed revenge for Tuesday’s assassination attempt, which killed two bystanders. President Bush criticized the strike, saying it “does not contribute to the security of Israel.” Later Tuesday, Israel killed at least three Palestinians and wounded 30 in a separate attack elsewhere in Gaza.
