A sentence of seven days in jail and the forfeiting of fourteen days pay was imposed upon an Arab police officer. The punishment was imposed because the officer was absent from his post without leave during the preparations for an anti-Jewish demonstration in Jaffa.

It was said that his absence clearly indicated his intention to participate in the demonstration while armed.
