Seven Jewish cyclists of varying ages and backgrounds pedaled away from Seattle, launching a cross-country bike ride to draw attention to Jewish teachings on environmentalism. The bikers, who were organized by a new New York-based Jewish group Hazon, plan to ride the entire summer, traveling 3,800 miles from Seattle to the nation’s capital. They also plan to lead classes and programs at communities along the way.
