Several hundred people attended an Israel Independence Day reception Thursday given by the Israel Mission to the United Nations at the Consulate General of Israel in New York. Among those attending were UN delegates from many of the European, Asian and African countries, including Egypt. Others in attendance at the reception, which was billed as “a coupe de champaigne,” was Mayor Edward Koch, Finance Minister Yoram Aridor of Israel, former Israeli Premier Yitzhak Rabin and leaders of Jewish organizations.
