The first tanker shipment of oil purchase from Venezuela by Israel arrived at Haifa today. The 9,500 ton shipment of crude oil will be refined at the Consolidated Refineries in Haifa.

Gershon Maron, manager of the Israel Fuel Company, which owns the oil, stated today that the shipment will not solve Israel’s fuel problem. He added that future purchases of crude oil will depend on allocations of foreign exchange by the government.
