Sidi Ahmed, leader of the Senussi, who is now on his way to Mecca, is one of the possible candidates for the caliphate. He has the support of the Turkish Government, it was learned today.

Kemal Pasha, who is responsible for the abolishment of the caliphate and the exile of the caliph, invited Sidi Ahmed to become caliph. Ahmed, however, refused at that time.
