Six more Jews received exit visas from the Soviet Union, permitting them to travel to Israel, according to reports received here today. Last month, 13 other Russian Jews were given Soviet exit permits for Israel travel. Most of the Israel-visa recipients are from the vicinity of Chernowitz and Kishinev, and several are from Moscow. Their average age is 66. All have children or other close relatives residing in Israel.
A new group of 505 emigrants from North Africa was settled this week-end in new homes provided for the fresh arrivals in the Negev and Galilee regions. The 505 arrived at Haifa aboard the S.S. “Golden Isles” last Thursday night; disembarked Friday morning, and left immediately for their new homes, where they celebrated their first Sabbath in Israel.
