Six U.S. religious leaders called on the U.N. General Assembly to declare its support for protecting religious sites around the world. “If you really want to hurt a faith community,” an attack on its holy sites “seems to be the most sensitive, most vulnerable focus,” said Rabbi Arthur Schneier, who led the delegation to the United Nations on behalf of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation.
