South African Minister for Mines and Economic Development Eric Louw today declared that the South African Jewish community has “reached its limits” and should not be permitted to grow beyond certain proportions, for unrestricted growth causes trouble.

Louv, speaking at a luncheon for newspapermen, said that this was also the opinion of several South African Jewish leaders. He added, however, that no formal restrictions on the growth of the Jewish community is contemplated.
