Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Jane R. Salomon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Salomon of the Waldorf Astoria, to Jason M. Elsas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Elsas of New Orleans.
Miss Salomon was graduated from Dalton Academy and the Alcuin School. Mr. Elsas attended the Horace Mann School in this city, the Newman School in New Orleans and Tulane University.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred H. Newburger of 285 Central Park West have returned to their country home at Glen Cove after having spent a few weeks at Atlantic City.
Mrs. Ellis A. Gimbel Jr., has returned to her home in Scarsdale.
Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bendix of the Hotel Clifton, 127 West Seventy-ninth street, have sailed for Haiti for a month’s vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. George O. Baer of 941 Park avenue returned recently on the Aquitania after having enjoyed a motor trip through England, Scotland, and Wales. They were accompanied by their son, George.
Mrs. Leo G. Federman, former Long Island champion, is at present at the Lake Champlain Golf Club.
Announcement has also been made of the marriage of Miss Ethel Steinmarder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Steinmarder of 325 Riverside drive, New York, to Mr. Sam Kahn. The wedding took place on July 26th.

Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Jacobs were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Sarnoff in Deal last weekend.
The marriage of Miss Eleanor Schall, daughter of William Schall of Omaha, Neb., and the late Mrs. Schall, to Chester A. Lessler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lessler of 17 East Eighty-fourth street, took place last Wednesday noon at the Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, 270 West Eighty-ninth street. The Rev. Dr. Israel Goldstein officiated.
Mr. and Mrs. Lessler will reside in New York City after their return from a wedding trip to Bermuda.
