Some 39 countries launched a campaign to make restitution for art stolen from Holocaust victims. The announcement came as representatives of the nations joined with Jewish groups representing Holocaust survivors at an organizing seminar at the State Department in advance of a second international conference on Holocaust-era assets to be held this fall. That conference is expected to focus on looted art works, insurance policies and other assets.
