Some 50 European mayors joined with leaders of the Geneva initiative at a conference in Lyon devoted to Mideast peace. The conference, which took place a year after a group of Israeli and Palestinian public figures launched an unofficial peace proposal in Geneva, brought together mayors from a number of European cities, including Bordeaux, Birmingham, Geneva and Turin.
