Some British officials wanted Margaret Thatcher to break ties with Jewish groups in the 1970s, according to newly released documents. The officials in Britain’s Foreign Office feared that Arab countries would see Thatcher, who later became prime minister, as a “prisoner of the Zionists,” according to the documents.
