South African Minister of Justice Bans Meetings of Anti-semitic Organization

Minister of Justice H.G. Lawrence today prohibited meetings of the anti-Semitic Grey Shirts in Johannesburg and other cities. He issued the ban under the provisions of the Riotous Assembly Act.

The mayor of Johannesburg, J.P. McPherson, has cabled to Prime Minister Attlee urging the immediate unconditional admittance of 100,000 Jews to Palestine as recommended by the Anglo-American inquiry committee.
