South Carolina Pledges $50,000 for United Jewish Campaign

South Carolina Jewry pledged $50,000 to the United Jewish Campaign at a conference held here yesterday, with Dr. Henry Moskowitz, of New York, the principal speaker.

The following state officers were elected: Montague Triest of Charleston, chairman; Professor Josiah W. Morse, Columbia; Rabbi Jacob S. Raisin, Charleston, David Kohn, Greenville; L. Rothchild, Greenville; Herbert A. Moses, Sumter, vice-chairmen; Isadore Blank, Charleston, treasurer; Dr. Ferdinand K. Hirsch, Sumter, secretary.

Four hundred Roumanian Jews greeted Dr. William Filderman, president of the Union of Roumanian Jews, who arrived recently from Bucharest, at a meeting in Philadelphia.

The speakers, besides Dr. Filderman, were Joseph Gross, Leon Ferraru, Professor of Romance Languages at Columbia University and Honorary Roumanian Consul in New York. Leo Wolfson, Solomon Sufrin, Rabbi B. L. Levinthal and Abraham Hirsh.
