More than 400 leaders of Jewish communities throughout Southern Florida today pledged themselves “to make whatever sacrifice may be necessary” in order to raise their share of the United Jewish Appeal’s 1947 drive for $170,000,000.
A resolution adopted by the conference stated in part: “This conference solemnly urges every member of the Jewish communities of South Florida to summon with renewed strength and consecration all the forces of energy, devotion and resource on behalf of the $170,000,000 United Jewish Appeal so that American Jewry may live up to the destiny that history has entrusted to it.”
