The recently announced project to establish an autonomous Jewish State in the Crimean peninsula has received the favorable consideration of the highest Soviet authorities, including Kameneff, Ryckoff, Chicherin, Trotzky and others in high governmental positions. This information was made public today by Dr. Joseph Rosen, Director of Reconstruction for the Joint Distribution Committee of America, in an exclusive interview with the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in Warsaw.
The plan is now being given final consideration by the Soviet Council of Commissars, following which it is anticipated that the government will issue a final decree establishing the Autonomous Jewish State as fact. The Jewish State, it is said, will be established along the same lines as all other autonomous regions which the Soviet Government has set aside for various other National minorities. The text of the decree, creating the Autonomous Jewish State, will be ready for publication within the next few days, it is announced.
