The Soviet Minister to Syria, A. Solod, who has just left the Syrian capital for Moscow, was reported in dispatches received here today from Damasous to have offered to supply the Syrian Government with all of her arms requirements from supplies manufactured in the U.S.S.R. and Czechoslovakia.
The Syrian Government welcomed the Russian offer and is studying the proposal, according to Minister for National Economy Maaruf Dawalibi. The Soviet diplocat was also reported carrying with him to Moscow the results of talks with the Syrians for an economic agreement and friendship pact between the two countries, wherby arms will be delivered to Syria in exchange for textiles.
