A resolution condemning “manifestations of racial, national and religious hatred or discrimination” was introduced today by Soviet delegate Valentyn Sapozhnikov at the Subcommission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, now in session here.
The Soviet resolution does not mention the term “anti-Semitism” and was believed to be designed for the purpose of heading off an exhaustive, worldwide study of anti-Semitism demanded by other members of the Subcommission. The Subcommission’s agenda calls for debate on an item entitled “Manifestations of Anti-Semitism and Other Forms of Racial Prejudice and Religious Intolerance of A Similar Nature.”
