Soviet Union to Purchase No Citrus Fruit from Israel This Year

The Israel Citrus Marketing Board has announced that the Soviet Union would purchase no citrus fruit from Israel this year. The announcement said that when the marketing board, preparing its annual export plan, approached the USSR for information on whether and what quantity it would purchase, the reply was completely negative.”

The Arab radio today reported that Iran’s Shah and the Governor of Bahrein have informed King Saud of Saudi Arabia that they have taken measures to prevent a drop of “Moslem” oil reaching Israel. Both Iran and Bahrein have in the past denied selling oil to Israel.
