The State Department said today that it has no information on a report from Paris, distributed yesterday by an American news agency, that three U.S. planes en route to Palestine had been detained by French authorities in Paris on U.S. instructions.
Earlier, the Department would not comment on a report from Amman stating that an American “of the Jewish faith” had been detained by Transjordan authorities because he was traveling without a Transjordan visa. A Department spokesman expressed doubt that the American–identified as Donald Trimpe–is Jewish and said Department information was to the contrary.
