Use Koch, notorious German war criminal, may go free in October on completion of her commuted Jail sentence, Dr. Stephen S. Wise, president of the American and World Jewish Congress, warned today in a letter to William P. Rogers, counsel for the Senate Investigations Subcommittee, which last year made an inquiry into the commutation of Frau Koch’s life sentence. Dr. Wise urged the Subcommittee to expedite the execution of its recommendations for further action against her by German authorities.

The letter pointed out that the German authorities have done nothing about [the case. In view’ of this fact, Dr. Wise urged that the matter not be left to the [discretion of the Germans alone, but that the U.S. authorities do everything possible to bring Ilse Koch before such a court. It suggested that American personnel “experienced in investigation and prosecution of war criminals be assigned as of counsel.”
