Stricter Measures Against Jews in France Demanded by Germans from Vichy Regime

French newspapers reaching here today from Vichy report that the German authorities in France are exercising increased pressure on the Vichy Government for intensification of anti-Jewish measures behind the front line.

As a result of this pressure, Jean Artignac, notorious anti-Semite, has been appointed as Commissar for Jewish Affairs by the Vichy Government.
