The strike of professionals continued for a ninth day today without any visible break in the situation. A ministerial committee which has been dealing with the strikers spent the day at a meeting which broke up without having contacted the strikers’ negotiating committee.

Meanwhile, there have been a few signs that some doctors and some of the other professionals may be tiring of the strike. However, the Medical Association issued a stern warning to would-be strikebreakers that if they quit the walkout the association would take measures to cut them off from every social and professional contact with their fellow physicians.
