Strikers in Acre Match Factory Are Arrested

Twenty-two Jewish strikers were arrested in Acre in consequence of a strike at the Nur Match Factory there. When the owners called in Arab strike breakers, the Jewish strikers endeavored to prevent them from working.

In the quarred which ensued, British policemen beat the strikers and made 22 arrests.

Nadav Benderly, a native of Palestine who has been in this country four years, was announced as one of the winners of the essay contested conducted for James. Hearn & Son by the New York University.
