Stronger American Government support of Israel was urged last night by two Senators at a Jewish National Fund Dinner honoring one of them, Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey, Minnesota Democrat.
Senator Jacob K. Javits, New York Republican, urged an American-Israel mutual security treaty. He said such a treaty had been made necessary because there had been a “great new flow” of Soviet weapons to the United Arab Republic.
Senator Humphrey said that reforesting the State of Israel through the JNF would cost less than five missiles. He said Israel “gives us an opportunity to prove that we do care about building a world that is worthy of mankind.”
