Some 500 Jewish university students arrived at Ben-Gurion airport early Thursday morning on Kesher ’89.

At the official welcoming ceremony, Transport Minster Moshe Katsav called on the group children’s children will be proud of them.”

The group will spend 10 days in Israel on a fact-finding mission under the auspices of President Chaim Herzog “to test our level of involvement in Israel, and our elation to the state.” according to Cindy Sofer, one of the participants.

During their stay here, the 500 students aged 20 to 40 will meet with Israeli students in order to study the possibility of aliyah.
