Students on 20 U.S. campuses — including the University of California at Los Angeles and the University of Wisconsin — held a “day of solidarity” with Israel on Thursday. Under the auspices of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, the pro-Israel programs featured readings of the Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel, Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin’s speech at a peace rally just before his assassination and the singing of Hatikvah, Israel’s national anthem.
