Postal service will be suspended in Palestine beginning Thursday and concluding May 15, the Postmaster General announced today. He said the move was taken “in the absence of any communications from the U.N. Palestine Commission providing for the acceptance of responsibility for the continuance of postal services.”
At the same time, he disclosed that all air mail service will be halted as of May 10; international telephone communications, May 5; radio, cable and wireless service, May 15.
