The Swiss Federal Council voted down a grant of $12,000 for the Swiss team which was to participate in the World Olympic games of 1936 in Berlin.
By eighty-two votes against fifty-seven, the Council decided that participation of the Swiss team in the Olympic games was not desirable because of the Nazi spirit which will surround them. The Catholics joined the Socialists in the vote.
