The Army chaplains corps has opened a synagogue in the southern Gaza Strip for the use of soldiers stationed in the Raffah area. It will be the third synagogue established in the Gaza strip. Inauguration ceremonies are scheduled to take place Sunday when the synagogue will be dedicated in the memory of Lt. Col. Abraham Sachs and Capt. Freddy Shmulei, of the military government, who were killed near Raffah nine months ago when their vehicle was mined.
