Police are investigating the vandalization of the 18th century Goriza Synagogue which was broken into and severely damaged by unidentified persons. Neo-Fascist elements are suspected but no arrests have been made so far. The synagogue, built in 1749, was forced open and robbed of priceless archives and historic documents. The Holy Ark was smashed and Torah scrolls and sacred books were torn and scattered on the floor.
