The Brotherhood of the Temple Society of Concord paid honor to Dr. James Shea on his fortieth anniversary as teacher and principal of Lincoln School. Each member brought a non-Jewish friend to the tribute dinner.
Leading members of the community lauded the activities of Dr. Shea, who was among the first to protest discrimination against the Jews in Germany. Among those present were Mayor Marvin T. Aaron Levy, John F. Barrett, Dr. G. Carl Alverson, Rev. Dr. Robert Bruce, Orville Green, Rabbi Benjamin Friedman, Alexander Saul, Frank Weedon, Rev. William F. Dougherty, Benjamin Stolz, president of the Temple, and Surrogate John W. Sadler.
