The second Maccabiad was held here all day yesterday in Thornden Park under the auspices of the local Communal Center, marking the celebration of Lag B’Omer.
Among the speakers were Warren Winkelstein, president of the Center; George M. Hyman, secretary; Max Schneider, director of health education, and Rabbi Benjamin Friedman.
The three-fold program of the day included educational, religious and athletic competition. Hundreds of youngsters, all members of the Center, participated.
