As far as Syria is concerned there is no such place as Israel. This was revealed yesterday in a two-page advertisement on Syria’s economy in The New York Times’ special International Economic Survey which was topped by a map showing Syria and its neighbors–next to a picture of President Hafez Al Assad–in which Israel was listed as Palestine.
