Technion Names Chemical Engineering Building for U.S. Scientist

A new technical high school named for New York industrialist Alexander Knoff and his wife was inaugurated at the Haifa Institute of Technology today. A cornerstone was laid simultaneously for a new chemical engineering faculty building named for Dr. Karl Compton of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mordechai Namir, Minister of Labor, announced during the ceremonies the establishment of facilities for trade instruction and foremen training which will be operated by the Labor Ministry, the International Labor Organization, the Histadrut, ORT and Technion.
