The American Jewish Committee and the Solomon Schechter High School of New York are teaching Jewish high school students about the Middle East conflict and training them to become advocates for Israel. The program, called IKAR: Israel Knowledge, Advocacy and Responsibility, includes a series of lectures on Israeli history and politics, seminars on topics ranging from the history of Zionism to relations between Israel and its neighbors, and student workshops to analyze media depictions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
