The BBC is pressing Israel to admit responsibility for the death of a driver killed during the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon. Abed Takoush, who worked for the BBC, was killed when a shell hit his taxi May 23. According to a report by the Israel Defense Force, Israeli soldiers believed they were under threat of attack from terrorists. But the BBC claims the IDF “targeted a civilian” in “a breach of humanitarian law under the Geneva Conventions.”
