The Canadian Jewish Congress blasted Prime Minister Jean Chretien for attending the recent Francophone Summit in Lebanon. In a letter to Chretien, the CJC said it “was deeply concerned that neither you nor anyone from the Canadian delegation denounced the despicable politicization of the conference by speaker after speaker who used the occasion to vilify Israel.”
