The Canadian Jewish Congress suspended its involvement in an interfaith group because church leaders have been silent about two recent synagogue firebombings. The CJC also left the Canadian Christian-Jewish Consultation because the Anglican Church of Canada, in a statement on April 5, blamed the current crisis in the Middle East on Israel’s “illegal occupation” of the disputed territories, while completely ignoring Palestinian terrorism.
